Volvo 162 convertible

Markus Boman from Avesta is a guy who does not take any shortcuts when it comes to redevelopment of his car. by Kent Åberg

What you see at first glance is a top shopt Volvo 164 that only has 2 doors but if you look a little more closely , you will see two joints in the roof and why it has two joints ?
Well you can fold it and place it in your luggage.
And here comes some fun solutions on a self convertible.
The roof is folded by hand and slid down the trunk of two rails , but first you have to fold down the backrest of the rear seat then it’s done you simply add it with a glass top that hat rack and then wondering many why a glass and not a metal album?

Well for Markus mindset to be able to see the ceiling through the smoked glass plate and mounted the small lights that illuminates the ceiling when it is in the trunk.
When the roof up again , there is a button on the ceiling as you press to start a cable game that helps to get the roof back in place which can be quite good for it can be a little hard to get up there on your own

Volvo certainly looks really fat out from behind when it is lowered

Then he mounted air suspension on the Volvo, where he can adjust the height of each wheel was for himself , which can be a little fun to want to go with bias , front height or altitude rump then just choose, but Markus goes best with Volvo max lowered for the cool lookens sake.

After 10 years of construction is now Markus and take it easy beside his Volvo 162 cab

The varnish was added by Markus brother Mattias in 1997 and has rolled so since.
He ‘s been pretty anonymous with his car , but he has got 4 prizes awards over the years it got past him in Skokloster 2007 and it was a first price .

He also says that he is looking to cut a little more in the winter , but first he’ll probably finalize another Volvo a duet that will be a company car in his father’s carpentry shop .
Not only that, he’s considering building a matching mobilehome to pull with his custom -built 164.

Airride system allows Markus can raise and lower the car as he want.

The mobilehome will also have air suspension and 17 inch wheels so ideas are plentiful at this swede .
For those of you who are wondering , the car is not for sale , he has already turned down a bid of 70 000 swedich kronor and it was without a doubt and it does not sell his soul so cheaply Markus has really put his heart and soul into this well thought-out construction

Markus has produced a very stylish coupe line on his Volvo with reclining front window and lack of B pillars

  1. Just beautiful work! You transformed a beautiful 164 into a more beautiful 162. I own a 1970 164 which I bought new in 1970; she now has only 40,000 miles – but I cannot remove her top. She’s now 44 years old. Congratulations again!

  2. Riktigt snyggt bygge, min första bil var en 164E -73 så man drömmer sig tillbaka varje gång som man ser ett fint ex. av volvos gamla flaggskepp. Kul att se!
