The word of the President.
Finally back in old routines and life is starting to look like its old self again with a normal tempo after all weekend festivities. Best of all must be the fact that we are moving towards brighter times which means spring is upon us and we can start to enjoy our four wheeled pearls once again. Maybe it doesn’t feel like it, but we soon enter the month of May and time to start aiming on Tjoloholm Classic Motor where our club will attend to celebrate our 60th anniversary with AMC.

Maybe it doesn’t feel like it, but we soon enter the month of May and time to start aiming on Tjoloholm Classic Motor where our club will attend to celebrate our 60th anniversary with AMC. During the weekend of 16-18th of August it was time for us to visit our Norwegian friends in RACN who hosted ACM Euromeet 2013. The meet was located in Tretten, a smaller town a few miles north of Lillehammer. The plan was for me and my son with girlfriend and friends to take two Javelins’ there. My 1970 Donohue and Rickard’s 1973 401” AMX. Furthermore, Johan and Asa from Bjorklinge were going to ride their Red Lizy and do some tourist stuff and visit AMC heaven in Mora a day early before all riding to Tretten on Friday morning. And then, as usual, nothing turns out the way you plan Red frankly decided not to start at the day of our departure.
After checking in to the nice cabins we did a round of meeting and greeting with both new and old acquaintances. On the agenda for later tonight was a cruising together with the local club Tretten Cruisers and later on, a barbeque. Our company were however very tired of the constant rain and decided to stay indoors and cook a dinner instead of going in circles in the wet town. Later on we joined the gang at their barbeque hot spot. After a few nice hours of cozy company with Norwegian guys and girls we decided to turn in early to reload before the big Saturday.
Sunday came and some of us were noticeably more alert than others… After some cleaning up and checking out we said our goodbyes with the phrase: “See you later and welcome to Sweden 2014!”. We left with old friends and new ones. Just as our arrival as our departure, we mostly drove in rain and we realized what luck we have had during the Saturday… Well back in Mora we could clearly state that both our Javelins’ had done a great job during our 400 mile trip when they ran like clockwork. As both motors just went over a total renovation, I guess it’s safe to say that they went through a proper run-through.
A few words from the editor….
The holidays are behind us and we are heading towards a brighter season. I hope you all are feeling great and I also want to thank you for renewing your membership in SARS. Without you there wouldn’t be a club! I have spent hundreds of hours creating the club magazine, the calendar and then Charles and I have got a surprise for the Tjoloholm Meet. The only thing that could stop us in that project is lack of money. But I hope and believe that we are going to make it. All work for nothing would be a shame! I wish you all happy reading!
