Sala’s very own Ford enthused family couldn’t resist bringing in the youngest member of their family in the right way. Baptism and Fords will be going hand in hand for little Wilmer Dimberg on his festive day. by Lars Krantz . Translation Stefan Blautzik.
Surrounded by Fords Families cars, Wilmer Dimberg was about to get a Ford of his own.
His mother walks out holding a 1:16 scale model. Little Wilmer face lit with excitement, he knew instantly he had just became the proud owner of a 64 Galaxie.

Per-Ivar Jansson standing tall and proud with the top down in a blue and white 59 Galaxie Sunliner. Back in his day he was Swedens youngest Folkracer. (Stock car racing on gravel) Although with little surprise young Per-Ivar had already been infected with the car “bug”. A shadow that hasn’t left his side since first bit at age 5. Eleven years later their he was, 16 overtaking experienced driver on the gravel.
Now most gearheads start off going to meets with Dad at an early age. Well in Per-Ivar’s case it wasn’t just meetings. Dad took him to the local meet at the Domus(like CVS) parking lot.
Adorable Moa Kajsa Jansson, 12 years old is getting her Ford influence for the day. Sitting shotgun in the 59 with the top down and smile across her face.
WorldKustoms lucky to catch this special moment in Moa’s life. I wouldn’t be surprised if moments like this 10 years down the road turn that smile into a smile completely taken over by “ford fever”!
Back to the parking lot.
-Should you head to “Brovallen” or “Ostervala” tonight? asked Curt the american car owners Regardless of the fact that Curt didn’t have a cruiser at the time, Per-Ivar and Curt jumped in their car and hurried to the meet.
Muscle car after muscle car poured in filling the lot. With every make and manufacture you can think of they still looked over at each other with a mutual agreement “Fords are best”! After a long visit at the meet and a tired look on 5 year Per-Ivar it was time for bed. 
The passion of the five year old stuck with him. As soon as Per-Ivar turned 20 he stretched open his wallet for a bucket list dream. It wasn’t much but 25 boxes full of parts later, a newly painted body, and a call to the states.
And there is was, his 1959 Ford Convertible! In 2004, Young and with his dream scattered across 25 big boxes he set a goal to put the car back together over three Swedish winters.
For a 20 year old with his prize possession lurking in his garage.
Three long years went by, something that must have felt like an ice age frozen over the garage and keeping his 59 from cruising the streets top down.
Blood sweat and tears went into his baby. However that newly painted body just had one wave too many for his standards.
Out with the sander, and a depressing blow to his build had him at rock bottom.
Under that “shiny” exterior laid two inches of bondo in some places. Discussed with the craftsmanship he stripped the entire body down and started off from scratch.
A calendar hanging from a nail in the garage haunted over the Ford. 6 calendars later that curse was finally lifted. He could finally put the key in the ignition and go for that magic drive in clean jeans. 
Daddy Curt Jansson had his double folded license(Old swedish licenses were so big they had to fold them) and has been out racing since the mid 50’s. He’s seen ever play in the book.
Up until he stumbled apon the biggest land yacht out on the market. After an impulse buy he had the heaviest car he’s ever owned. A car originally for big shot executive’s that hasn’t been started since 1972. Curt stowed away the original 430ci and dumped in a 390ci to get the sails up running on his big land yacht.
The beautiful young girl is Katrina, Per-Ivars daughter. She’s the proud owner of the 64 Galaxie, a sleek classic thats defined by elegance and muscle that speaks her personality perfectly.
A car completely different from her fathers and Grandfathers but nevertheless every time she turns over her V8 she can still remember all the time’s spent with her elders. Even the days back when Per-Ivar, Grandpa, and her would cruise to Classic Car Week in the Lincoln! “I remember being 12 when everything finally stuck” Katrina says with a undoubted passionate look on her face. Her face reflecting a piece of her families life style
“When it was my turn, it was the lines of the car that mattered most. Plus I wanted a problem free car. The Galaxie 500 had it all, the lines, convertible top, V8 backed with an Automatic, the car itself drives like new”-
The scale model was a story of it’s own. This car crazy family seems to be willing to go to hell and back to get what they want. And in this case Katrina wants little Wilmer to have a 1964 Ford Galaxie.
Not to much to ask for right? Well in their case they called around and searched the web with no luck. Per-Ivar, now a Grandfather, determine to get his daughter the exact car got lucky. Per-Ivar calls “Modellbilsvagnen” (miniature classic cars) and asks after a 64 Galaxie.
-“Sorry those cars have been flying off the shelves and it looks like were cleaned out!….Wait we do have one convertible in stock.”, said Modellbilsvagnen Clerk
“What color”, shouted Per-Ivar?
-“It’s a blueishgreen? If I had to guess maybe teal?”, said Modellbilsvagnen Clerk

A great family, and one crazy car story. Nevertheless, WorldKustoms got the chance to see the 4th generation realed in. Curt, Per-Ivar, Katrina, and Wilmer are all proud owners of a fullsize Ford!
