The Salvation Army Swap Meet

The Salvation Army is selling cars through dealerships on the west coast of Florida and has car shows with swap meets. Worlkustom visited one of them and sauntered for a bit.

Let’s leave the standard car shops with tools, model cars, stereo-8, tires and kitchen appliances from 1962 and instead have a look at what’s for sale in types of cars. With 10.000 dollars in your pocket and a vacant spot in a container it’s always fun to jump in the deep end to see what’s out there.

WOW! Pair on the first give! A totally cool 67 station wagon from Ford. The 67 front is the most harmonious from this period. In good condition. Pretty wheels. 390 and C6 and an entire A4 with options and fun details.

Could have given 8.000 dollars for that one. A quick glance at the price had me jumping back into sauntering mode. Asking price was 25.000 dollars.

– I bought a Cadillac 1959 convertible with new chrome, new convertible and new interior for 16.000 dollars in 2002. Surely, it was 12 years ago but it’s gonna be kind of hard to be coughing up 25 for a station wagon from 1967 after that. Let’s continue.

salv05Fun custom. Just finished according to the builder. Ford 1949 with Buick swipe spear fender and huge scoop. Low budget and…cool.

salv06The interior is not quite done yet and many shortcut solutions. 8.000 dollar.  Cool cruise mobile.

salv07Killer of today. Lincoln Zephyr in mint condition.  Totally raw car you can save for your dreams. Not for sale.

That one. Pretty, perdy, pretty Chevy 58 but without price and no hard top and.. Let’s keep going.

salv03Yulp!  A 65Plymouth Belvedere fresh as a rose, right as rain and peach ripe with an owner eager to make a deal who has lived with the car during plenty years. 318 car with 383 and 727-box.

Good interior. Cannonball underneath. 8 3/4 -inch rear axle. Not untouched in any way, would rather say on the contrary but the guy had done a great job. Wanted 15.000 dollars but could do something about the price.

And then it showed up. Today’s stop-and-smell-the-roses kind of car.

This was a close call. Almost did a withdraw from my 41K. T-bird 1960 with all kinds of possible and impossible documentation from birth.  26.000 miles. To clarify: almost nothing. E-mailed home to Sweden but no one showed interest. I Want.

That’s all from The Salvation Army for today. Roll with God sister.
