The organizers had done a great job in putting flyers on cars on the meetings around . On the web, the message was out there a long time ago. Pelle and Eve Schaeder had left Power Meet on Friday night to be participate in Krantz Challenge in Gumboda Hed.
Everything looked good but the task was to make a success !! Gulp.

Peter Ölvebo had come from Malmberget Norrbotten to participate and compete with the Ford Galaxie Skyliner Retractable Hardtop from 1959.
-I like the competition. It is exciting and fun. Sometimes I get a trophy, sometimes not. It doesn’t matter. It’s the show and the element of competition that’s fun.
– Who will win today, asked Wordlkustom the experienced Krantz Challenge competitor?
– My tip is one of the hot rods, he said.
For this year the organizers had sharpened the meeting by letting in all the enthusiast cars in the party area. Not just only those that could compete then. And the cars came. From ten in the morning to two in the afternoon they rolled in.
Mårten Bergman came from Umeå with his Dodge Charger 1966. Looked newly painted but the car’s renovation was nine years old. The coupe had space and sweep like few.
Custom cars, hot rods, original cars, builds and rat rods. Just walking around the party area’s stunning environment and look at the vehicles did the Saturday. Matilda Strand , Lucas Lundström little Elof Lundgren and mother Jenny Lundgren had a good time. Jenny came in her own Chevy Custom 1954. Father Peter’s Rod stood beside. Cool.

Gumboda Heds venerable party place with dance floor, pub, rock scene and the space full of American cars right on the main road E4 in between Umeå and Skellefteå is a complete place. 
Perfect weekend. Addto this is a music weekend with camping, eight bands on three stages such as the Hep Stars, John Lindberg Trio Custom Covers, Jenny Holmgren and Halm and you have the perfect weekend in the Northern Sweden summer light.

The very last ten cars had to park outside gate, near by and walk the short distance .
-What Can you say? Absolute chock full. Sunshine, warm, hamburger sellers sold more in four hours on this Saturday than on all afternoon and evening before.
Happy people and packed on race and area. They looked at each other.
They had done it again and found themselves walking and pointing at new areas that could be exploited nest time.
Krantz Challenge gave away 32 bags to a value of 500dollars, shot t-shirt with the T-shirt cannon to the audience, handing out books to the public and distributed nine trophys to the voted cars plus 500 dollars to the winner and two hotel nights for two people in the Super Final in Rättvik 25 July.

The trophy girls with the honor was Tina Salmonsson and Hanna Forsberg. They also handed out prizes in 2014 but this year they came in Hanna’s own car! Rock and roll.

-Nothing, said Krantz. It’s you who are the whole show. It’s completely stupid to charge you. Krantz will never take money from you the heroes who carry the tradition, the whole movement forward, the roots of the hobby. I look up to you man! It is you who are the artists.
-But how do you make your share of living, Fredrik asked
– ? What a guy. Thinking of others.
– I get paid by the arranging event, sometimes the city, sometimes the traders, and of course the sponsors, I explained.

In Krantz Challenge is completely impossible to predict. Pairings and judgments composition by ordinary public creates mayhem all the time! And that the contestants know. They are there to relax and have fun with their car. It´s just a big, fun show. No pressure. Full Stop.

There is really no break in Krantz Challenge but we made one in the middle when the gang Rock girl’s from Åsele came with the show Rockabilly Drill.

Eight Outstanding
Eight remain. To get here you need to win two heats. Here are the trophies eight outstanding handed out. Still to win into the semi-finals with four cars left, and then take it to the final and eventually winning that. The winner must emerge victorious from the duel five times in a row to stand as the final winner.

Eva Bohlin, perhaps? Shiny Cadillac 55 a with TPI and TH 700 for the year sharpened with Conniekit. Louise Holmqvist mabye? Ford 32 roadster. Showed the car both with the convertible up and down. Radiated quality and function. Funny thing was that the steering knob came from an egg timer in aluminum.
Kenneth Schaumann perhaps? Thundered in with open headers in the first round and woke up audience. After silenced with super charger wining.
Björn Abrahamsson Maybe. Super stylish 67: a GTO in whith Coca Cola look with their pain waist and wide rear axle fell judges of taste.
Helge Stener perhaps? Pontiac in shiny metallics and new chrome. His latest build without a scratch. Burt Johansson maybe. Long, low, slick Thunder wounder with roadsterkit over the back seat got the judges to raise their spades. Slick slider.
How bout Jimmy Löfbom. A classic 1959 Chevrolet kustom with paint in sixtys style and glowing lights in front like white Cadillac Rear lights and ribbed grill. Stylish custom school from the north. Per Björkstrand perhaps. Gorgeous Buick fifties sense dual color paint, here in the open version whispering motor with its swipespear side molding.
Who wins? Oldest car Pontiac? Newest into GTO from 1967. A fiftys cruiser? A hot rod muscle or a smooth custom?
