NORTH CAROLINA. Long story short. Swedish girl who have swimmed the same lakes and breathed the same cool Swedish air as the editor ran out of luck in the USA.
Miss Majsan went to the big US of A years ago finding her ways in the land of freedom and opportunitys.
Books have been written , articles have been made and waves have been surfed always in company with that beloved ol´Ford of hers. Untill recently when it caught fire.
The normal is to junk it, scrap it, part it out but Majsan is not normal. Noo not at all. The easy way is not her path. That’s why we love her.
We all have different skills. Some of us can bend sheat metal. Some can do mechanics and some can paint while others can cut and paist sentences into poetry on a computor.
Friends have decited to help the Swedish blond who hangs on to her dreams and loves her old station wagon. They’re doing the work for free.
Majsan is on it but it’s still a long way to go. She could need a little help.
Meet her in person in this short film below.
/Krantz. Editor in Chief.
How bad is it ?
Bad. When the engine caught on fire, they thought they could fix that for about 1500 bucks, rewiring ‘n all (because the mechanics donated their labor) but when they got under the dash and under the car they saw it was so rusted it can snap in two…so, no sense in spending even 1500 on something that needs a complete body restore. And, it’s a unibody….so they have to custom make transmission tunnel (think that’s what it’s called) and pretty much the whole underneath.
Thank you so much for doing this. As we say in Swedish…många bäckar små… There is a $2 “just because” button on there, and it also helps with just referrals. Many Ford fanatics out there, grease monkeys and what not. <3
Time to find a doner car… Much easier and cheaper …. He will be back on the road soon :)
The mechanics already found and bought a donor car, before knowing how much I’ll bring in. They are simply awesome. There will still be some custom work, for one, removing the bondo in some shitty-fixed places. We’re also looking for that missing extra seat that goes in the back…two seater that pops up. Lenny is a 500-series (the small) Fairlane.
Like they say ” do your best and bondo the rest ” we can check at the big ford swap meet in Ohio when we go up there
That would be GREAT. I’ll find out the exact details of that seat. They are hard to come by, but hopefully there is one out there somewhere.
