SWEDEN. The Brattas murders are still an unsolved double homicide that occurred the 31st of May 2005. An elderly couple in their seventies, Tor Oberg and Gerd Wiklund were murdered on their farm in Brattas on the outskirts of Harnosand. Car enthusiasts, help us find the blue Valiant. This is an article that never would have made publication in any other car magazine I have freelanced for. One of them even discourages the Swedish nickname for car enthusiasts: raggare.

That’s why it’s a much freeing feeling as editor to take on both personal and societal responsibility. This spot was initially reserved for a glossy article about an American diner but this is more important. The diner will have to wait.
Repeated times on TV
In 2005 Tor Oberg and Gerd Wiklund were brutally murdered with an axe like weapon on their farm in Brattas, Harnosand. The double homicide is still a Cold Case and the murderer is still running free amongst us. The case has been presented on TV several times and the Police are still investigating.
The Police received 25 tips from the public in 2013. It may seem strange with tips coming in eight years after the murders but it’s on the contrary pretty common. With time people get new life situations, new acquaintances. You change your habits; break from earlier acquaintances, age and loyalties switch. An impossible case can be revived by a long closeted observation. Lets come together raggare and help some.
The Valiant on the farm.
One person has seen a blue American car parked at the side on the road leading up to the house. It was first seen from the front at the road when it came driving. Then it was seen again parked on the road leading up to the house and then shortly after leaving the area.
Two people were seen in the car. Of course it could just be someone taking a wrong turn, backed up and turned around at the same time as the murders occurred BUT to be able to exclude them from the investigation we need to find these people.

Tuesday the 31st of May 2005 in Harnosand. In Sweden we discussed the new prohibition laws of smoking in bars, in pipeline was also the privatization of drug stores and Crazy Frog was the big summer hit. For car enthusiasts in the area that sort days and weeks around car events, it’s the day before Wednesday Fun Meet on Mittsverigebanan. That Wednesday looked like this:
Go through your albums. Scroll through your hard drive. Scan through your memory. The car doesn’t have anything with the murders to do but the ones sitting in it could have valuable information. They were there right when it happened!
Raggare listen up. I’m not asking you for foreign shoe prints or nightly ATM withdrawals. I’m asking you about a car thing, an American car. Why? Because we all always have that American car scanner on and who, tell me who’s better equipped than us to notice American cars from the 1960’s? So, which blue Valiant’s rolled in the area the spring and summer of 2005?

Jag trodde inte vi skulle få några svar. Detta är stort. Fortsätt. Nu löser vi det här.
We have recieved several tips. Keep on posting. There is a double killer out there. The subject was the blue Valiant but we have als recieved another tip. Of cource Worldkustom cant value what’s relevant or not but are forwarding all your input to the police currently. To be perfectly honest with you. I didn’t beleave in any answers. This is great. Keep posting. Let´s put an end to this case.
När vi nu har ett bilregister, och blå Valianter inte är särskilt många i drift så borde man väl kunna göra ett sök där och sedan utvärdera resultatet. EN fundering bara.
Vi har fått ett liknande tips Thomas. Frågan är om det går att backa bandet och se vilka blå Valianter som rullade i området för åtta år sedan, men definitivt en god tanke är det. Jag passar det vidare till experten på området, Fixar´n.

Angående att kolla upp via bilregistret. Så har polisen redan kontaktat oss som ägde en Valiant vid den tiden.

En expert på bilregistret jobbar just nu med att dammsuga varje möjlighet att hitta flera. Polisen lista jämför vi då med den nya för att se om någon ytterligare tillkommit.

Lars-Åke Krantz svarar: Som sagt. Låt oss röra om. Polisen har inte resurser att röra i grytan konstant utan fallet hamnar på hyllan långa tider MEN kommer det in tips, då aktualiseras fallet. Ingen kritik mot polisen. De gör sitt bästa efter de resurser vi tilldelat dem.
