The guys made a flying launch. The orders came in like clockwork but what happened with the Caddy and why is Stefan walking around with cash keen on spending?
Shortly after the pillar lift, air compressor and welder were put in place in that little shop the customers formed a line. Advertising? Forget it. The gossip spread like dust from a fan and now all of a sudden the project cars had no place to park.
-LaSalle , VolvoP1800 and pickups clogged the area in front of the garage.
Stefan had pulled the motor out of the Caddy, that just needed a tune up, and spare parts and new tools were all over the place. No doubt that the demand for guys like this was huge. The opening party got cancelled due to putting on the overall instead.
The Cadillac 429 showed to be a pricey chick to entertain.
-Huh, what crazy prices, said Chris. Not a Chevy . Not a Chevy at all. That first renovation turned out to be an expensive lesson for the Chevy guys to swallow.
Chris keeps track of the expensive’s and now when it’s not a hobby but a job for two persons to gain paychecks from the task it all but easy.
-We have to be careful he said, just when Stefan came joggling with cash in his face.
-Now what? Put away the dough he said automatically.
Nope, can’t do, said Stefan who had been fishing on the net. We’re going to buy a car.
-Forget it, Chris said. Just forget it. We should sell something first before any more buys.
– You have to move when time is right said Stefan. Are you coming or . . .
Chris bites the bullit as the hammer goes on.
-No I’m not going any where and you neither. You’re putting that motor in the Cadillac. Period.
One month into the collaboration and they are arguing all ready about the business . . .
The Cadillac is ready to go by the way
Year is 1964. New brakes, new power steering, new steering box, new tank, new gas line, plus a renovated 429 motor. The almost “stock” rust on the front fenders down below were welded and painted. Underbody treated.
No rust in frame or floor. Nice interior.
