Sweden today. A Lincoln is hauled trough a blizzard for an opening of a new museum in Härnösand.
Calle Lundkvist is opening a museum i Härnösand soon. See coming advertising. The real estate guy has built him self an astonishing 50.000 square feet to fill with cars. Cars are brought in from all over the country and he picks them up himself. Why do it the easy way when you can make it a survival trip?
Calle and his friend Johan Larsson sat of for picking up a 1948 Lincoln in Vänersborg when people just had gone to bed on Friday.
The weather? Negative!
They drove trough the night to take advantage of the short day light for loading.
They loaded, were done with that at 4.30 pm Saturday, turned and pressed on. Of course in two miles two tires blew. They called the local emergency tire guys and ended up buying four new wheels.
Sleeping? No sir. Strong coffee and a blizzard taking up got them going north with no stopping exept for fueling gas and more coffee.
1130 miles
Not even the main highways were cleaned from snow as the nature played its joker cards this night and day and night.
Back home 8 am Sunday.
– Carguys!
Var själv på äventyr samma tidpunkt men bara till Gävle, t.o.r, ett fasansfullt snorhalt väglag men Chevan gick som en stridsvagn med full last på flaket, åtminstone hem. :-)
Vädret stoppar aldrig en road trip !
Good luck Calle !
Bra jobbat grabbar! Inget stoppar en raggarentreprenör!
