SWEDEN. The celebration is held a couple of miles from Peter Sandbergs’ hometown Västerås.The 25 year anniversary is celebrated Friday November 29th 2013 in a hot, steamy old garage close by a brass industry.
The warehouse is divided into two sections; a garage space and a bar area. The party is of course were the bar is at. The smell of oil and fumes lingers heavy in the air. This evening it is complementary mixed with a masculine air of sweat, after shave and single malt whiskey.

It’s the 25 year anniversary of The Go Getters and it’s celebrated with a typical Go-Getter evening in a very, very small town. When I say typical I mean packed with explosive energy, strong hardcore music with vocals meant for royals and a rhythm that makes you wanna’ shake that thang. The late November night is cold and dark, the roads slithery and fans travel from far up north and way down south to celebrate the birthday band. The venue is decorated with posters, light strands and flags in a Mexican theme. The owner, Mikael Fredriksson points to one side of the room and says:
– Peter actually painted that whole wall over there one afternoon.
New Album
The Go Getters are releasing a new cd soon, a compilation of earlier hits from earlier releases. One bonus track is added, Foo Fighters’ My hero. The recording is a dedication to the late guitarist Robin Johnson that passed away in a tragic motorcycle accident in 2011.
The extra icing on the cake for us musical nerds is to analyze the transition between the songs having that different musicians have recorded different songs on the compilation. It is well known that Peter Sandberg is the common dominator in The Go Getters and that his guitarist and bass player varies from gig to gig. Anders Eriksson has been frequent visitor at Go Getter gigs during several years:
– It’s exciting to enter the venue when Go Getters are playing cause you never know which musicians’ he’s bringing with.
Changes musicians often
The audience is extremely excited and supportive during the gig. It clearly shows that they all have at least one thing in common: The Go Getters. The venue atmosphere is friendly, smooth and on stage the band is on fire. The musicians vary as Peter Sandberg has the luxury of picking and choosing musicians from the audience that either is a member or has been one. The performers give their absolute best when their number’s up. The intensity, the passion, the playfulness is clearly noticeable in the delivery.
Peter Sandberg’s voice fills the dive bar with a majestic sphere tinted with playful touches. He is, in my opinion, the best singer hands down in this circuit.
Peter thanked
He takes time in between songs to give thanks to all his supporters and fans. The break in between sets goes long whilst the audience mingles and hangs at the bar. The band is found backstage brotherly sharing a bottle of Jack Daniel’s. The mood is good. When they start playing again there are some technical difficulties and the audience waits patiently on what’s to come.
USA Australia Europe
Judging by the clips on the big screen, what becomes in-your-face
clear is how grand The Go Getters are on the international stage. Whilst the cameras sweep over the sea of audience in Australia, Germany, Las Vegas, Austria, Spain and
England it all becomes very clear. “You name it, they’ve been there”. From the
pizzerias in Hicktown to the glamorous bars of Las Vegas. The Go Getters have been
entertaining on three continents during the past 25 years. Taste those words
while you insert the new album into your CD-player.

You know. We made a Magazine, not by internet rules but as something we could stand for and something we would like to find online our selves.
