SWEDEN. The 25th and 26th of May 2013 the gates opened for the 37th consecutive year and thousands of visitors could enjoy classic cars, hot rods, convertible muscle cars and voluptuous cars from the 50’s. A generational transition is spreading through Sweden. Lasse Theander hands it over in Jonkoping, Charlie Ostlund turns it over in Bollnas and here in Ostersund Agne Ottosson is passing the torch. In Ostersund Marie Eriksson and Krister Lingblom stepped up to the plate. The weather was amazing, the outdoor motor exhibitions draw a huge audience and it turned in to be a two day festival with Batman, Norwegian dragsters and a wild card from Villhelmina on one wheel two inches from the railing on his MC. A fierce lady race took place during the Sunday. A very popular event. As was the sound system competition and the heavy, wide load part with trucks and busses. At the finale the tears came. Yes, it’s true. The Norwegians’ cried, the Swede’s wept and no one wanted to go home. That’s what I call a pretty ok event.
American luxury from 1966 impressed. Tomas Karlsson from Umea rode in cozy interior.
The Shows were well visited both days. Could barely walk. Jamtland’s Burnout King was crowned on Sunday.
Margot Hellberg from Sundsvall came on second place with her “new” Oldsmobile 98 from 1958. Looked like it never had been started but had been driven to the spot. Top knotch.
Vidar Aas Pro Street Camaro 1968 with LS1-motor, Willwood brakes and only put together with well renowned parts. It was this show’s piece of eye candy.
- Norwegian power. The Mustang club of middle Norway crowned the best Mustang in show. This highly prepped 69 was a candidate. Owned by Arve Nordbotn.
Rune Jonsson from Dalarna didn’t just arrive with his son Niklas’ Futurliner but also with a car of his own that he purchased for 10 dollars when he was 18. A Hudson salvaged from the junk yard during the 60’s for pocket money.
Big and small was the motto of this year’s motor exhibit. J-E Jonssons’ Gogomobile from 1958 was super awesome and very, very tiny.
Micael Stromberg from Sundsvall won first place with his 1958 Cadillac Eldorado Biarrittz. Everything brand spanking new in preparation for this year.
A cleanly polished project was introduced into light of day in Ostersund. Johan Andersson’s Lit. Ford 32 Roadster.

The motor exhibit of 2014 in Ostersund takes place between 24th and 25th of May.
Voted most popular car in Norrland 2012 (down right corner.) in Krantz Challenge caught many peoples interest. Winner Johnny Hansson from Falun with his pink Chrysler Windsor convertible from 1958 participated in the exhibit.
Krantz Challenge will be held in Östersund on Spring Meet the 14th of May, 2014.
Jamtland will then have the opportunity to nominate a vehicle of their own to compete in the Super finale were the winner gets a 1.500 dollar price and the title of Norrland’s most popular car 2014.
