Ulf’s Truth 1:
– Ordinary people have $ 15.000 to play for. Call it the pleasure account or whatever you want. 

In Ljusdal it is warm and welcoming inside with ES Motor though the rain streams down outside. Ulf Sandstedt is talking on the phone among the cars. A customer is about to get in the car and go and Ulf tells about the car’s flaws. He is careful and goes around the car.

In the coffee corner sits another customer who wants to buy a modern American police car ES Motor have in stock. It is autumn but the business is  in full swing.

When Ulf get time with Wordlkustom he wastes no time. Truth 1 is shoot directly. Ordinary people in the 40- 50 year age have summer cottage, boat or motorcycle in round figures 15.000 More and more of them are buying an American classic  in 2015. Boat is tedious, MC alone and summer cottage is a lot of work.

They have been walking and looking on cruisings  in ten years and now they want to ride instead. They gladly buy a well functioning driver aaround 18.000 which is easily fixed. The cars have simple mechanics, they are driven seldom and  gently and I help with the service. These robust designs just works year after year.

Ulfs truth 2:
I can not be more expensive than private persons on the Blocket i.e. the sSwedish Craigslist

-Whaat, but now Krantz protest. He knows directly he steps over the threshold of a trader, it costs three grand!
– That’s history, that was, before the internet, says Ulf. Now people are super conscious.

– I have to keep the same prices as the private individuals, have 30 cars in stock that a customer can choose from, obtain service and finance and help of course when a client got a problem with the car.

We sit down  in the cozy coffee corner. Ulf started automotive related manufacturing in 1984 to make bull bars for heavy trucks. 1997 he changed to usa cars  and after having had sales in two places, Stockholm and Ljusdal, he has now moved home running since 2004, only ES Motor in Ljusdal.

Eleven years, there is now and the premises have been expanded. In the workshop nest door is his partner Jan-Ake Glad (Happy) is the name. A positive guy who makes sure that the car fleet is safe, serviced and ready

Ulfs truth 3:
You save to yourself with a USA classic car and all you need is four grand. 

The banks  have taken that old cars are like real estate. They are investments and “safe money” if they are pampered. Buy  a Yankee car  and save  to yourself.

– The thirties people easily buy a car for 15.000.   4.000 down and 150 bucks for  84 months, says Ulf. When the car is paid, it has risen in value. A fun way to save for yourself.
Ulf is poring  a  second cup of coffee and talks about their boys who grew up at the Classic Car Week, the countless trips to the US to shop for cars and the fun 20-year-old youngsters entering nowdays.

Ulfs truth 4:
Anyone can own a usabil.

The mechanic Jan-Ake  Glad  was shocked at first. He is the Alfa Romeo fan, and when it was needed a wheel bearingto  a DeSoto  1958, he put his forehead furrowed.
– But how do we to find a piece like that??

-He was totally shocked when I just took the phone and  Norrlands Custom Ornskoldsvik delivered in the mailbox the day after, Ulf, laughs.

Today there is a whole industry around the cars and everything is possible  to get. He sees new customers from all life’s seasons and really funny are the 20-year-people, he says.

The guy enters with rolled-up jeans and stylish, plaid shirt with the girl in white blouse, high heels or sneakers and makes a sudden stop in front of a  sunburned forty coupe  with scratched windshield

This would both want to have  car something that is not obvious for fifty year old couples She whispers something and hug the guy and that’s it.
It’s easy to own a usa car today and we will help all we can, says Ulf really shining out  enthusiasm for the old warriors on wheels with 40, 50, 60, 70 years down the road.

Ulf’s Truth 5:
I happened to sell out  all the cars in July.

Krantz opposes again. That surely can not be right?
– You traders have well a smart network of cars that circulate between you and you fixes and rearranging behind our backs.

-I Have a partnership with one (1) Swede who  buys cars in the US and one (1) other shop in Sweden. Thats all , and after having been made visible through  Krantz Challenge with central banner I ran out of cars in  the middle of the season, he blinks.
