After two years in Harnosand with Krantz Challenge the event expands to a full week. 2015’s event is called Nostalcic Days in Härnösand and a new record again on Saturday with over 1500 cars and ten thousand visitors in town.
Nostalgia Days 2015 and the same trend in Härnösand as in Hudiksvall then.
Krantz Challenge’s beginning Saturday, grew into something much bigger.
In Härnösan this year a whole week was held with the classic car rally classic car exhibition, Volvo Exhibition, styling contest, Hillclimb, mingle at the largest auto museum, excursion to the Food and Nostalgia in Viksjö and Wednesday bash of Motor Speedway to name a few activities.
2016 comes more, says Kicki Viklund, chairman of Hernö Cruisers and Henrik Skyttberg Harnosand Shopping Place who built an air-ride lowrider the Nostalgia Days.
Worldkustom comes with several reports from The Nostalgia Days ahead.
Krantz Challenge Härnösand 2015.
The area was chock-full when the competition started July 11, 2015 at 1 pm. In the wettest summer since 1961 the sun shone over Mellanholmen as in 2013 and 2014. That particular murmur that becomes when thousands are gathered appeared though it drowned when Gottfrid Krantz started the rock-and-roll from the speakers and the cars thundered onto the competition track.
Krantz Challenge was back! With the cars, the people, the party and summer. Now it came and it became the All Time High Again! Classic cars in parking lots, streets, squares, campsites, hotels, motels, and a 1966 Pontiac got the rear axle fixed at Mekonomen.
The entire town was bubbling of fun vehicles. In the evening record with over 1500 vehicles that cruised in front of unrolled beach blankets, brought with chairs, tables, table cloths, cameras and happy people. Nostalgia Days in Harnosand: A fantastic development for the town.
So it went in the competition:
The trophy girls and counters today were: Madeleine Lundvall, Amelia Westerberg, Ludo Bergqvist and Emma Flodin.

Then the party starts. Anders Lockner Camaro conv. against Chev -55 in mild gasser style from Maria Eriksson, Sundsvall. Arms out of the windows usually means continued contestants.
VW 1966 for Sebastian Eek, Harnosand. Went all the way to eight outstanding with his charming Beetle . White walls, wider rims and Moon-like hubcaps with roof rack in wood and baggage holder appealed to today’s judges.
Ann Sjöberg and Hasse came from Själevad with a Chevy rod -38 Hasse built 20 years ago and now bought back.
Hasse turned 60 that day and said Krantz Challenge was a great way to celebrate.
They received gift cards Krantz Burger meal at Tina’s Diner that Nostalgia Week to honor developed the meal that was Krantz favorite in the seventies long before Pizza Hut, Max, Big Boy, Burger King, McDonalds and Subway hit Sweden
Ulf Lindstrom from Docksta in the pits backstage. His 47 Chev Fleetmaster had a Buick 455 engine and TH400 transmission. Competed last year with a 31st roadster and went out immediately.
I hope to go further today, he said. Built in Småland in the nineties. New paint, air ride and decals have come later it and in the winter, new steering. Ulf seemed to thrive.
-Impossible to know how this goes, he said.
Niklas Andersson Josefin Jansson and Frida Andersson Lind is here for the third year, but it’s first year as judges. We reward cars with personal expression, they said.

Hat in the air from Kenneth when the news came
Schaumann runs over.
-It Was not intended that I would send an Ö-vik ziticen south , he said.
Johan Abbing laughed in his Rock-and-Roll Limo which he imported himself.
Improving every winter with new chrome and new paint. John’s goal is that all deluxe accessories and electrical gizmos found in the car should work.Inside it is completely untouched. Used but well preserved. What if it could tell.
Funniest happening throughout the summer. Ann-Sofie (right) is here for the third time and vote on the car of the two she would like to have for herself. Eva Sjöström’s here for the first time and voted European. We buy as much coffee as we can to sponsor it, they said.
Janne Lundell from Umeå with the Lincoln Zephyr and caravan makes its entry in the blue court and wins the race. Benny Nordlander, Viksjö in the 1958 Buick Limited got a very tough draw and a short trip today. Try again with your nice Buick Benny.
Beautiful setting in Härnösand. The sea city is making itself felt. Depot at the Night Bay’s glassy water.
The Squarebirds from 1958-1960 (red car) has an extreme body as either go out directly or go far. It all depends on today’s judgments composition. In Sollefteå Thunderbirds went far one year. Here in Harnosand it starts with win for Kent Olsson, Vaja and his 59th. Michael Strandberg from Hattsjö came in a stunning Dodge Coronette 1959. A nice fifty cruiser with chrome, fins and whitewalls.
Eight outstanding. The remaining eight in receive trophies. To get here, you have to win twice. You must have the “right” car compared to today’s 99 judges that are selected at random in the audience. You will also have the good fortune to not meeting the winner because it sweeps away everything in its path.
Krantz Challenge is a gamble, a show, a play, a party and everybody knows it. You can fall directly with a really nice car if you have the misfortune to go against the winner in the first round. One thing is for sure though. “The Right Car” always wins, namely that car that no one can beat.
Only one Härnösand car is still in the competition. From left: Janne Lundell, Umeå Lincoln Zephyr -41 caravan, Vilgot Sjöberg, Degernäs, Chevrolet Bel Air -55, Sebastian Eek, Harnosand, VW 66, Ulf Lindström Docksta, Chevrolet Fleet Master Pickup -47, Kenneth Schauman, Flärke, Ford hotrod -32, Kent Olsson, Vaja Ford Thunderbird -59, Hasse Sjöberg, Själevad, Chevrolet rod -38 and Eve Eneroth, Kasa, Cadillac Coupe -55.

-Niice belt man, he said.
Semi-final one, Zephyr on and ready for the final.
… And he’s doing it again this day Kent Olsson from Vaja. Judges love the Thunderbird and now it is also in the final.
Before the finals assigned a Krantz Challenge car out. Annica Martin came to Mellanholmen Harnosand in a monsterpickis which soared 6 feet above any other. Saw Krantz Challenge for the first time. –Super nice this, she said.
FINAL.
The drivers out of the cars this hot afternoon. Less than two hours ago they started their climb toward the top.
To get to the final you have to win four times. Both are unbeaten so far. The music roars, the crowd pushes closer, thousands of eyes watching the two. Would you cope with that?
For the last time, judges shall vote.
Do you think that Janne Lundell feels like a sure winner with his brown equipage. Rarely. He has been here before and seen bigger upsets than that in the Challenge.
It’s Thunderbird judges out there and Kent Olsson’s Red fifties convertible with white interior has blocked everything so far.
Janne’s Zephyr won the Super Final in Rattvik in 2014 and is “an old winner”. Should his newly-built caravan weigh? It is wide open. Anything could happen. The counters go out and come back.
It is clear, they signal. No recounting. It’s settled. There is a winner. The judges have had their say for the last time.

Towards the super finals and Classic Car Week and Rättvik for Janne Lundell with air suspension on both the car and truck. Oh, yeah. He drives the car. No trailer queen there.
Janne Lundell:
– Now it gets easy to drive home to Umeå. (3 hours) Damn fun!
t’s stuff from 15 cars plus a horse trailer on the trailer with the emblem of a Hillman. The fenders are Chev -40. I made a simple sketch one morning at the coffee break. It must go in the same style as the car. I then built it myself.
Originally it is a normal trailer, but it is most the hitch and papers that remains from it. Lower moldings Nash is 52. I wanted so badly to reach Eight Outstanding and was super happy after that.
Then it is an incredible excitement. In the playoffs, anything can happen.
I was dead nervous every time but now the feeling is incredible!
People linger, take pictures, talk, comments.
Sun burns, burgers grilled.
The grass is greener on this side.
After a while thousands turn to recharge and gather for cruising in a hot, unforgettable Saturday night with a record number of cars.
-It’s Good now Harnosand. Very good.
