Corvette in concrete vault

They thought he was joking. When Richard Samson built his new business, he saw that the 1954 Corvette was walled in with just a window to stare through.

The Corvette is from 1954. It was parked in 1959 not to come out until 50 years later. It had 2500 miles on it when it was parked. Richard made sure that the pallet was up and that the two electric lights would make sure it had a light and fine environment. People laughed, but fifty years later, Richard would have had the last laugh if he had lived. He died in 1969

1976 a magazine look to the car through the glass, and even if a lamp had gone out, it looked to feel good in the dim glow of the remaining bulb. Ken Gross wrote that although the color looked a little dull  it seemed like  chrom and roof  were in good shape.

1986, Ken Gross, took a new turn around the Samsons  but then  a lot had happened. The Samson family had sold the store and his daughter Cynthia had spent $ 3,500 on taking the car out …. and put it in her living room in Florida. (!)

Yes, I love my father, and the car is very important  and as the living room was the best place, she said, and announced that she had not decided whether it would be preserved or renovated, or possibly sold.

Ten years later, in 1996, she sold the car in exactly the condition it was found in the vault and after standing in her living room. The buyer was Pro Team Corvette who claimed that it was the oldest unrenovated low milage Corvette on the planet.

January 27, 2013 it came up at auction at Mecum’s Kissimmee auction in Florida. There it remained unsold after a bid of $ 100,000.
