Swedens biggest car museum opens 31:st of May.

Sunday 31st of May at 1:13 p.m. in Härnösand  the doors open to the largest automobile museum in Sweden. Calle Lundqvist bought a whole neighborhood, linked together buildings, built out, built new, getting together 60.000 contiguous square feet in Härnösands center of which 40.000  are show space. by Krantz

Calle Lundkvist is the entrepreneur who did not fit in school.

Calle 15 years old.

Today the local real estate king explodes in his interest always nurtured – old cars.

The first car was a 1959 Chevy Impala
Calle’s greasers simply. Began renovating mopeds and sell to retailers. The first car was a 1959 Impala looong before the drivers license. After that  he started a car paint shop..

Sold 40 estates.
From there it became renovation of real estate and 57 years old, he sells 40 buildings  and puts togehetr the largest car museum with the largest number of vehicles. The old man does not sit in the office pointing.

No, and he has returned to his old skills. He painted A CAR A DAY  every day for weeks in a totally crazy pace  before the inauguration 

Lundkvist IS overalls, hair on end, dusty reading glasses, jack and a forklift in the snow.

He has also managed to build a replica of the murder carriage from Dallas in 1963.

A Staggering trip.
He has made a staggering journey and now he offers the visitor the same. The halls take the visitor on a breathtaking trip from the eastern countries where the Trabant cars  climbs through the Berlin Wall in Europe. America is understood in a giant hall as well as the Swedish folk home cars we all remember the smell of.

Want’s to tell the story.
Dad Tykko was a historic preservationists of great proportions with many books behind. The vein to preserve and tell Calle direct descendants and he explains in his tangible way. Not on paper, but through his museum, his sharp memory and good storytelling.

The car that passed as artikle series in two magazines from Harnosand are issued. That is also where new material is shown  in the form of a never-before-published movie

More than cars.
Härnösands Car Museum is a place to spend hours. Refreshments, thinking, remembering, get amazed, overwhelmed, and by all means get lost in. Businesses have already booked events, schools from other counties are planned to arrive, group homes where older, perhaps with dementia can get the luxury of seeing, feeling and remembering for a day.

Not finished.
The museum starts now. From here, the journey begins. The walls will be adorned by props, new backdrops will be built, others replaced. Calle has a lot of cars that are not exhibited. Others want to contribute theirs. When these are presented  the flow gets going that keeps the museum alive. The are plans, many of the owner. Did I mention that he built a whole fire station inside.  Must be experienced. The future is exciting.
